Sporting Lisbon are reportedly interested in forging a relationship with Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan.
The club's CEO Miguel Cal and Head of International Business Development Nuno Fernando Cardoso were hosted by the 67-year-old on Friday at a hotel in Malaysia's capital city, Kuala Lumpur.
The Sun Daily reports that the Portuguese side want to forge a relationship with Tan for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, it is believed that the meeting was organised because Sporting want a link with Malaysia's most powerful football figures.
Secondly, the report also suggests that the Leonel Pontes's side are hoping to work with Tan's existing network of clubs, which also includes Belgian team KV Kortrijk, Bosnian outfit FK Sarajevo and MLS franchise Los Angeles FC.
Sporting have had a mixed start to the current Primeira Liga season, taking eight points from their opening five league games.
