Wednesday's MLS predictions including Sporting Kansas City vs. Colorado Rapids

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Wednesday's MLS fixtures, including Sporting Kansas City vs. Colorado Rapids.

New England vs. NY Red Bulls (Thursday, 12.00am)

The New York Red Bulls will try to extend their winning streak to three games for the first time since 2018, when they pay a visit to Gillette Stadium to face the Eastern Conference-leading New England Revolution on Wednesday.

New England scored two minutes before injury time to win a see-saw game over New York City FC 3-2, while the Red Bulls shut down Nashville SC 2-0 on Friday.

We say: New England Revolution 2-1 New York Red Bulls

The Red Bulls have lost all three of their road games in 2021, while New England have won all of their games at home, going 4-0 so far.

Seven of the 10 goals that New York have conceded have come away from home, so expect Carles Gil to eventually find an opening for someone to score as New England should find a way to win yet again.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Philadelphia vs. Columbus Crew (Thursday, 12.30am)

A crucial game takes place at the top of the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference on Wednesday, as Philadelphia Union play host to Columbus Crew.

The hosts currently occupy third spot, having won three of their last four games, while their opponents sit just one point behind with a game in hand.

We say: Philadelphia Union 1-1 Columbus Crew

With both sides coming into the game in strong runs of form, this could definitely go either way, and we cannot quite split them on this occasion.

Both teams have shown themselves to be solid defensively, which we see resulting in a low-scoring draw on Wednesday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

NY City vs. Atlanta (Thursday, 12.30am)

New York City FC take on Atlanta United in the MLS Eastern Conference on Wednesday.

The two sides head into the clash level on 11 points from eight games, with NY City currently holding onto the seventh and final playoff position via goal difference.

We say: New York City FC 1-1 Atlanta United

We can envisage a fifth draw in six matches for Atlanta when they take on NY City on Wednesday.

These two teams are level on points after eight matches so there is clearly very little to split them.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Chicago Fire vs. Cincinnati (Thursday, 1.00am)

FC Cincinnati will try to move out of the basement in the MLS Eastern Conference when they travel to the windy city to face the Chicago Fire on Wednesday at Soldier Field.

Both sides have lost their last two games and are tied at the bottom of the standings with only four points, with Chicago slightly ahead because of goal difference.

We say: Chicago Fire 1-1 FC Cincinnati

These teams have had similar difficulties this season, lacking consistency through 90 minutes and neither being able to finish off many of their scoring opportunities, as Cincy and the Fire are the two lowest-scoring teams in the league with six and four goals scored, respectively, so far.

Both sides concede plenty but expect a low scoring game, as both teams are lacking the precision in front of the goal.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Montreal vs. DC United (Thursday, 1.00am)

CF Montreal take on DC United in the MLS Eastern Conference on Wednesday.

Montreal head into the clash outside of the playoff positions on goal difference, but can leapfrog their forthcoming opponents into the top seven with a victory.

We say: CF Montreal 1-1 DC United

Both sides appear to be gaining momentum under their new managers, with avoiding defeat on Wednesday likely to be viewed as a positive step from both of them.

Neither team are scoring or conceding too many goals of late, so we do not envisage there being too many flying in.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Minnesota Utd vs. Austin (Thursday, 1.00am)

Minnesota United and Austin FC square off in the MLS on Wednesday looking to move closer to the top seven of the Western Conference standings.

Despite having improved of late, the two clubs currently sit in 11th and 10th place respectively, just above bottom side FC Dallas.

We say: Minnesota United 1-1 Austin FC

While both clubs will view this as an ideal opportunity to get another win on the board, we cannot ignore that they may prioritise avoiding defeat.

Houston vs. Portland (Thursday, 1.30am)

Houston Dynamo take on Portland Timbers in the Western Conference in the MLS on Wednesday.

The two sides head into the meeting level on points inside the playoff positions, with Portland two places ahead of their forthcoming opponents courtesy of boasting a superior goal difference.

We say: Houston Dynamo 1-2 Portland Timbers

Portland have a game in hand on Houston, and we expect them to open up a three-point gap over them on top of that after looking improved of late.

With both sides scoring and conceding more than a goal per game on average so far this season, it should be an entertaining affair regardless of the result.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Nashville vs. Toronto (Thursday, 1.30am)

Nashville SC play host to Toronto at the Nissan Stadium on Thursday looking to record a third home victory on the bounce.

Meanwhile, the visitors will be keen to arrest their current slump in form, which has seen them fail to win any of their last four matches.

We say: Nashville SC 2-1 Toronto

The home side have a chance to heap more misery on their struggling visitors, who will be keen to avoid another defeat. We are anticipating a close contest with the hosts coming out victorious by a narrow margin.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Seattle vs. Salt Lake (Thursday, 3.00am)

Seattle Sounders will look to extend their unbeaten MLS record to 10 matches when they play host to Real Salt Lake on Wednesday evening.

However, the visitors have also gone four fixtures without suffering defeat, setting up an intriguing contest in the Western Conference.

We say: Seattle Sounders 2-1 Real Salt Lake

While convincing victories for the Sounders have been few and far between, you cannot ignore their consistency when it comes to getting points on the board. Real Salt Lake will provide a tough test for the leaders, but we still expect a narrow win for the home side.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Vancouver vs. LA Galaxy (Thursday, 3.30am)

Vancouver Whitecaps prepare for the visit of Los Angeles Galaxy on Thursday as they look to avoid a fifth consecutive league defeat.

On the other hand, the away side will hope to arrest their current slump on the road, as they have lost both of their last two games away from home.

We say: Vancouver Whitecaps 1-2 Los Angeles Galaxy

The home team have been on a downward spiral in recent weeks and as a result, we are backing the visitors to emerge triumphant, albeit by a narrow margin.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Los Angeles vs. Dallas (Thursday, 3.30am)

Dallas will look to win away from home for the first time in 2021 when they battle Los Angeles FC on Wednesday at Banc of California Stadium.

The Toros came back to draw Minnesota United 1-1 on Saturday, while LAFC are now on the outside when it comes to playoff positioning after drawing the Houston Dynamo 1-1.

We say: Los Angeles FC 1-0 Dallas

LAFC are due a win at home after a couple of strong performances lately that have not translated into victories because of one or two lapses in concentration.

However, making an error against Dallas is anything but fatal as they are a team that rarely make you pay for your mistakes, and they are at the bottom of the Western Conference standings because they have not figured out how to make all of their possession count.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
