Sporting Gijon squeeze past Real Madrid Castilla

Sporting Gijon began their Segunda Division campaign with a narrow victory over Real Madrid Castilla.

The only goal of the game came midway through the first half when Serbian striker Stevan Scepovic acrobatically turned home.

Chances were hard to come by in the remainder of the match as Gijon held onto their slender advantage at El Molinon.

Next up for Sporting is a trip to Recreativo Huelva, while Castilla welcome Alcorcon.
