Ramos: "We just weren't precise enough"

Sergio Ramos has bemoaned Spain's failure to convert their domination into more goals during yesterday's World Cup qualifier against Finland.

The Real Madrid defender, who was making his 100th appearance at international level, opened the scoring shortly after the restart.

From then on the hosts created numerous chances, but they failed to score again and were made to pay when Teemu Pukki struck late for Finland to ensure that the spoils would be shared in Gijon.

"[Looking at the result] it's a real pity, especially after I celebrated my 100th cap with a goal," Ramos is quoted as saying by UEFA's official website. "We completely controlled that game but ultimately let it out of our grasp. We are not happy. We just weren't precise enough when it came to finishing [Finland] off."

The results have left the Spanish two points behind group leaders France, whom they face on Tuesday.
