Former Southend United, Stevenage and Oxford United player Mitchell Cole has died at the age of 27.
The midfielder had been forced to retire from professional football in 2011 with a rare heart defect.
Cole began his career with West Ham United, before he moved to non-league side Grays Athletic.
The winger spent the majority of his career with Southend United and Stevenage, before he ended his professional career with Oxford United after he was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
He continued to play football on a part-time basis, last playing for Arlesey Town in the Southern Premier League.
