Phil Brown, Luke Wilkinson named League Two winners for September

Southend United's Phil Brown and Luke Wilkinson of Luton Town are named League Two's Manager and Player of the Month for September.

League Two's Manager and Player of the Month for September have been revealed as Phil Brown and Luke Wilkinson.

Brown guided Southend United to 13 points out of a possible 15 as the Shrimpers kept up their playoff charge.

The other nominees were Gareth Ainsworth of Wycombe Wanderers, Bury's David Flitcroft and Paul Tisdale of Exeter City.

Wilkinson is rewarded for not conceding a goal when in the Luton Town lineup, helping the Hatters to an unbeaten run when he was in the side.

Wycombe Wanderers striker Paul Hayes, Jack Payne of Southend United and Northampton Town's Marc Richards were the other players put forward.
