Theo Walcott set for permanent Southampton move?

Theo Walcott is reportedly set for a permanent move to Southampton, after impressing Ralph Hasenhuttl on his loan spell from Everton.

Walcott is a product of the Southampton academy and made his Saints debut as a 16-year-old, which explains why he was delighted to return to St Mary's last summer.

The winger has contributed two goals and three assists in 19 appearances for Southampton this season, with his experience helping Hasenhuttl's side stay clear of relegation trouble.

According to talkSPORT, a permanent transfer to bring Walcott to the South coast is on the table, with both parties determined to make the deal happen.

It is understood that the contract would be that of a longer-term deal also, keeping the 32-year-old with the Saints for the foreseeable future.

The former England international has just recovered from a hamstring injury, and bounced back by getting the assist for Nathan Redmond's winner against Burnley on Sunday.
