Southampton to swoop for Scott Dann

Southampton are reportedly poised to move for Blackburn Rovers defender Scott Dann in the summer.

Since the 25-year-old moved to Ewood Park in August for a fee of £6m, Rovers have claimed only 28 points and currently sit 19th in the Premier League table.

In contrast, Southampton occupy the final automatic promotion place in the Championship table and if both clubs swap divisions at the end of the season Saints boss Nigel Adkins will table a £1m bid for the player, according to The Sun.

Aston Villa are also said to be interested in Dann.
