Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino insists that he is not concerned about his future despite seeing the Saints drop into the relegation zone.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino has insisted that he is not worried about his future despite growing speculation that he could be sacked unless results improve soon.

The Saints are currently on the longest winless streak in the Premier League having failed to come away from any of their last 11 outings with maximum points, a run of form which has seen them drop into the relegation zone.

Suggestions that Southampton may look to replace the Argentine grew once again when Watford sacked Marco Silva earlier today, but Pellegrino insists that he does not fear for his job.

"When they asked me about if I'm worried about my job, I said it as a joke. The manager is an easy employment to lose. It's very difficult to be sitting in the same chair for a long time," he told Sky Sports News.

"I fear for the health of my family, not my job. I enjoy doing my job - even when you are in difficult moments.

"The club is bigger than me and the players. We need to respect our fans and our board and the people that believe in us. My first commitment is to win myself as it's my profession - I want to win every game."

Southampton's current winless streak is their longest in the top flight since 1998.
