Jos Hooiveld refuses to panic despite Southampton's disappointing start to the Premier League.

Southampton defender Jos Hooiveld has refused to panic despite his side's disappointing start to the new Premier League season.

The Saints have lost both their games in the English top flight this campaign, going down 3-2 at Manchester City last week and then 2-0 at home to Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

"This is the kind of club where we do not panic easily," said Hooiveld. "We came from League One two years ago and are now in the top flight.

"There are a lot of things we need to learn and need to be cleverer in but if you look at the players here, it will come."

Southampton's next Premier League game is against Manchester United at home on Sunday.
