Koeman in the dark over Wanyama injury

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed that he does not yet know the full extent of Victor Wanyama's injury.

The combative midfielder's half-time departure took the shine off a 1-0 win away to Ipswich Town in an FA Cup third-round replay at Portman Road tonight.

Wanyama appeared to pull up with a hamstring problem, before being replaced by Steven Davis after the break, and Koeman expects him to miss a "few weeks" at least.

"Victor Wanyama is a pity. Before the match I spoke to him and told him he would have 45 minutes, and he got injured with 10 seconds of the half left," he told reporters.

"He will have a scan [on Thursday] and we will see, but he will be missing for a few weeks."

Shane Long netted the only goal of the game as the Saints set up a fourth-round clash with Crystal Palace.
