Neither Southampton nor Swansea City have been able to break the deadlock in a tight first half at St Mary's Stadium.

Gerhard Tremmel kept the visitors on level terms in the early stages, reacting superbly to push Adam Lallana's deflected effort away to safety.

However, Tremmel would have been helpless just minutes later had Gaston Ramirez been able to find the target with his curled strike from the edge of the box.

Swansea came into the match as the half progressed and Ki Sung-Yeung was unlucky not to open the scoring with a drilled effort that Paulo Gazzaniga was forced to tip around the post.
