Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew has spoken of his relief after securing a six-month loan deal to join Sochaux from Marseille last Monday.
Ayew, the younger brother of famed striker Andre, had been struggling for playing time at his parent club Marseille, having only made seven starts this season.
"It's a huge relief for me to have a change of scenery and rediscover my motivation," Ayew told reporters in France.
"My family encouraged me to come here and I really didn't have to think about it too much. Even without the World Cup approaching, I would have made the same choice. I'm 22 and I should be playing as much as possible."
Sochaux currently find themselves in 19th place in the Ligue 1 table.
