Siena ran out 1-0 winners in their Serie A match with high-flying Udinese at Stadio Artemio Franchi-Montepaschi Arena this evening.
Both sides started cautiously, a trend that continued throughout much of the first half.
Neither side was able to create a meaningful goalscoring opportunity, with the defences of both teams coming out on top throughout the first period.
The first real highlight came just before the hour mark when Udinese struck the woodwork as they looked to continue the pressure on those above them.
It was Siena who took the lead, however, as Destro steered his effort past Handanovic with 20 minutes remaining.
Neither side could further trouble the scorers, leading to a 1-0 result that sees Siena move up to 13th place, while Udinese remain fifth.
