Sheffield Wednesday have announced that Henrik Pedersen has become their new head coach.
The Owls are currently enduring the worst period off the pitch in their history with players having not been paid on time for the fourth time in five months.
Furthermore, safety concerns over a stand at Hillsborough has led to its closure at the same time as the club being unable to pay fees for new players due to an EFL embargo.
That heavily contributed to Danny Rohl leaving his position in the dugout by mutual consent earlier this week, and the club's financial position essentially meant that there was an inevitability about who is successor would be.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Henrik Pedersen as our new manager.

Who is Henrik Pedersen?
As such, the Yorkshire giants confirmed on Thursday morning that Pedersen - Rohl's former assistant - would be taking the reins.
The 47-year-old holds managerial experience at a range of different clubs, including Eintracht Braunschweig and Stromsgodset.
His last senior role came at Danish club Vendsyssel FF between July 2021 and October 2023 before he joined Rohl in making the switch to Sheffield Wednesday.
Pedersen has effectively been handed responsibility for trying to keep the club in the second tier of English football when their near 158-year existence is coming under threat.
So far, over 12 players who could have represented the first team have already left the club ahead of the new season, which begins next week.
Sheffield Wednesday start the campaign with a trip to Leicester City on August 10, another team that is facing off-the-pitch issues with a points deduction expected to be enforced in due course.
