Sheffield Wednesday owner Milan Mandaric has entered advanced talks to sell the Championship outfit.
The Serbian-born businessman initially took over at Hillsborough in 2010, buying 99.7% of the club's shares while also settling their outstanding debts.
However, he is understood to be keen on selling the Yorkshire club, with investors from Thailand in talks over a reported £30m deal.
The 76-year-old also tried to sell Wednesday last summer, but his proposed deal with Azerbaijani businessman Hafiz Mammadov eventually collapsed at an advanced stage in September.
Should this takeover go through, the Owls would become the second Thai-owned club in the division, alongside Reading.
Wednesday currently sit 10th in the Championship table, six points off the playoff places.
