Lucescu signs new deal

Mircea Lucescu has signed a two-year contract extension with Shakhtar Donetsk that will see him remain as the club's coach until June 2015.

The 67-year-old's original deal was due to run out at the end of the season.

Lucescu, who was appointed the Shakhtar coach back in May 2004, has led the Ukrainian giants to six domestic league titles and the UEFA Cup in 2008-09.

Lucescu has also coached Brescia and Inter Milan in Italy and Galatasaray and Besiktas in Turkey.
