Deon Burton, Mark Yates claim December awards

Scunthorpe United striker Deon Burton and Cheltenham Town boss Mark Yates have been revealed as the League Two Player and Manager of the Month for December.

At 37, veteran striker Burton rolled back the years for the Iron by scoring four goals in four games for the league leaders.

Yates, meanwhile, guided Cheltenham into the top half of the table with 10 points out of a possible 15.

The Robins conceded just three goals and saw off sides above them in the table like Fleetwood Town and Morecambe.
