Report: Al Jazira close in on Jefferson Farfan

United Arab Emirates side Al Jazira are on the verge of completing a deal for Peru international Jefferson Farfan, according to reports.

The 30-year-old winger has been with Schalke for seven years, but endured an injury-hit campaign last season and made just nine Bundesliga appearances.

However, he has passed a medical and a fee of £4.2m has been agreed between the two clubs, reports ESPN.

Farfan, who has scored 17 goals in 63 appearances for his country, is expected to sign a three-year deal worth £7m.
