Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac ruled out for six months

Schalke 04 defender Sead Kolasinac is likely to miss the next six months after picking up an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his knee.

The 21-year-old, who suffered the injury in yesterday's 2-1 defeat against Hannover, is expected to undergo surgery next week.

A statement on the Bundesliga outfit's official website confirmed the news earlier today.

Kolsasinac made 24 appearances for Schalke last season, and was rewarded with a place in Bosnia-Herzegovina's World Cup squad earlier this summer.
