San Jose Earthquakes 2-1 Seattle Sounders

San Jose Earthquakes claimed a dramatic late victory as they traded injury-time goals with the Seattle Sounders in Major League Soccer.

A solitary goal from Simon Dawkins had the Earthquakes earning a routine home win as the clock ticked over 90 minutes before a crazy end to the game developed.

Seattle breathed new life into the match two minutes into added time through substitute Fredy Montero, who headed home from close range.

San Jose quickly went from agony to elation as they darted down the other end to find a winning goal less than a minute later.

The Sounders hard work was undone from a set-piece, with Shea Salinas crossing to find Steven Lenhart unmarked in the penalty area to win the match on 93 minutes.

The win extends San Jose's lead at the top of Major League Soccer's Western Conference to five points over Real Salt Lake.
