Samuel Eto'o 'to have Sampdoria medical'

Samuel Eto'o is reportedly ready to undergo a medical before completing his transfer to Sampdoria.

The Cameroon forward was believed to be close to finalising a deal last week, before discussions between Samp and current club Everton appeared to hit a snag.

However, the Liverpool Echo reports that the 33-year-old is in Rome to complete his transfer to the Blucerchiati.

The Toffees were willing to wait until they returned from a winter training camp in Qatar before continuing negotiations, but talks appear to have progressed.

Eto'o is thought to have already agreed a two-and-a-half-year deal to join the Genoa outfit.
