Russia clinch beach soccer gold in Baku

Russian Federation have won the final gold medal of the European Games after beating Italy 3-2 in the beach soccer final.

Goals from Egor Shaikov and Gory Yunchinskiy gave Russia a two-goal lead in the first period.

Ilia Leonov made it three for the Russians, while Gabriele Gori and Alessio Frainetti scored what turned out to be consolations for Italy in the final period.

Earlier in the day, Portugal overcame Switzerland 6-5 in a thrilling encounter to win bronze.
