Preview: Roma vs. Sassuolo

Sports Mole looks ahead to Saturday's Serie A encounter between Roma and Sassuolo at the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma can remain hot on the heels of Serie A leaders Juventus by picking up all three points in Saturday's clash against Sassuolo.

Rudi Garcia's side snatched their third consecutive victory in Italy's top flight with a thrilling 4-2 win over Inter Milan last week.

Juventus are due to play tomorrow evening against Fiorentina, and should they stretch their lead to six points, then Roma will be under pressure not to slip up in their pursuit of the title.

Roma have struggled to keep a clean sheet in their last two fixtures, but have a perfect record in the league at home this season having won all of their seven matches at the Stadio Olimpico.

This weekend's opponents Sassuolo are in a rich vein of form after extending their unbeaten run to seven last week with a 2-1 triumph over Hellas Verona.

The team have moved up to 10th in the standings, and while 13 points separate them from Roma, they are just five adrift of third-placed Napoli after 13 games.

Sassuolo suffered defeat the last time out against Roma, but in this fixture last season, they were able to snatch a 1-1 draw in stoppage time.

Miralem Pjanic is expected to start for Roma on Saturday after netting a brace against Inter Milan last week, while Saphir Taider is likely to be in the first XI for the visitors.
