Tottenham 'fail with approach for Real Madrid teenager'

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly had an approach for Real Madrid defender Miguel Gutierrez turned down by the Spanish champions.

The 19-year-old is yet to make his first-team debut for Los Blancos but has been on the bench on four occasions during the 2020-21 campaign, including three times in La Liga.

The left-back has scored once in 12 appearances for Real Madrid Castilla, meanwhile, having made the step up from the club's Under-19s.

According to Defensa Central, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho attempted to bring Gutierrez to Manchester United during his time in charge of the 20-time English champions.

The report claims that Mourinho is now determined to sign the defender for Spurs, but Madrid have made it clear that the teenager is not available for transfer.

The Spaniard's existing deal at the Bernabeu is due to run until June 2024.
