Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti reportedly wants to complete a loan deal for Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez over the January transfer window.

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly backed a plan to complete a loan deal for Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez over the January transfer window.

The Italian, who moved to Goodison Park last month, has worked with Rodriguez during stints at both Madrid and Bayern Munich, where the Colombian spent two years on loan.

Rodriguez is open to moving elsewhere over the next few weeks, having failed to make a discernible impact under Zinedine Zidane this season.

According to The Mirror, Ancelotti is determined to bring the 28-year-old to Everton on a loan basis.

Other sources have claimed that Madrid are willing to dispense with Rodriguez, who has also attracted interest from local rivals Atletico Madrid.
