Goalkeeper Augusto Batalla heading to Real Madrid

River Plate president Rodolfo D'Onofrio has confirmed that goalkeeper Augusto Batalla will spend the 2015-16 campaign with Real Madrid.

The 18-year-old, who has long been linked with a switch to the Bernabeu, will initially join Los Blancos on a season-long loan basis, with the option of the deal being made permanent in June 2016.

"The contract hasn't been signed yet but in June, Batalla will go to Real Madrid on a one-year loan, with an option to buy for a large sum," D'Onofrio told reporters.

It is expected that Batalla will turn out for Real Madrid Castilla in the early stages.
