Real Madrid cruise to a 5-1 friendly win against Los Angeles Galaxy.

Real Madrid showed their class to cruise to a dominant 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy on Thursday night.

Gonzalo Higuain opened the scoring for Madrid after just three minutes, latching onto a through ball from Angel di Maria and producing a clinical finish.

Di Maria then added a goal of his own from range to put the La Liga Champions 2-0 up after just 12 minutes.

Galaxy finally showed signs of recovery and gave their home fans something to cheer about by pulling a goal back.

A trademark set-piece delivery from David Beckham led to a free header for David Lopez to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

Madrid quickly asserted their dominance with a fine attacking move to restore their two-goal advantage.

Higuain turned provider to find Jose Callejon, who finished smartly to make the score 3-1 at the interval.

A number of substitutions in the second half only made Madrid stronger, with the introduction of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

Young starlets Alvaro Morata and Jesse Rodriguez both added their names to the scoresheet as Madrid looked in ominous form ahead of the new La Liga season.
