Simeone: 'Extra day rest will not matter'

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone remains unfazed by the fact that Real Madrid will have an extra day's rest leading into the Copa del Rey final.

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is unconcerned that rivals Real Madrid will have an extra day's rest before the Copa del Rey final.

Simeone's side face Barcelona on May 12, 24 hours after Real Madrid play Espanyol. This means that Atleti will have just five days to prepare for the final, compared to Jose Mourinho's men having six days' rest.

"Our preparation for the match is going well," Simeone told AS. "It was the same against Chelsea - they played their league match before us and we won. We are fine with the days we have to prepare."

Atletico Madrid lost 2-1 to their Madrid rivals, which has opened up a six-point gap between the two sides with just five games remaining.
