Real Madrid injury update vs. Mallorca - key duo to miss out

Real Madrid injury update vs. Mallorca - key duo to miss out

Real Madrid will switch their attention back to La Liga this weekend, with Mallorca their opponents at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix on Saturday evening.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have not been in league action since March 31, when they beat Athletic Bilbao 2-0, with the result leaving them top of the table, eight points clear of second-placed Barcelona.

The capital giants will enter this match off the back of a 3-3 draw with Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at Bernabeu on Tuesday night.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Mallorca, who lost on penalties to Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final last weekend.

Thibaut Courtois

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Courtois underwent surgery on an ACL injury last August; the club's number one goalkeeper had been in line to return alongside Eder Militao against Athletic, but it was revealed before the March international break that he had suffered another knee injury in training, leading to a season-ending operation.

David Alaba

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Alaba suffered an ACL injury against Villarreal on December 17, and the Austria international will not be available for Real Madrid until the 2024-25 campaign.
