Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Valencia

Real Madrid injury, suspension list vs. Valencia

Real Madrid will be looking to make it three La Liga victories in a row when they welcome Valencia to the Spanish capital on Sunday afternoon.

Los Blancos have beaten Huesca and Getafe in their last two league matches to move onto 46 points from 22 matches, which has left them in second position in the table.

Zinedine Zidane's side are still five points behind leaders Atletico Madrid, though, and the Red and Whites now have two games in hand over their bitter rivals.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Valencia, who currently occupy 12th position in the table.

Rodrygo Goes

Status: Out Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: Unknown

Rodrygo Goes had to be stretchered off the field against Granada on December 23 after picking up a thigh problem, and the Brazilian remains unavailable for selection.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: February 14 (vs. Valencia)

Dani Carvajal was again not involved against Getafe due to a muscular problem that has appeared more troublesome than initially thought, but the Spain international could potentially be available for this game.

Sergio Ramos

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Sergio Ramos, who has still not signed a new deal with Madrid, underwent a knee operation on Saturday to address a meniscus issue, and the club captain is not expected to be available for selection until April.

Federico Valverde

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: Unknown

Madrid were again unable to call upon Federico Valverde on Tuesday due to a muscular problem, and the central midfielder is believed to be facing a few weeks on the sidelines.

Lucas Vazquez

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: February 14 (vs. Valencia)

Lucas Vazquez has recently been unavailable for selection due to a muscular problem, and the Spaniard faces a battle to prove his fitness ahead of this weekend's contest.

Eden Hazard

Status: Out Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: Unknown

Eden Hazard is facing another four to six weeks on the sidelines due to a muscular problem that was identified earlier this month, with the Belgium international unable to complete a training session.

Marcelo

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: February 14 (vs. Valencia)

Marcelo was forced off in the latter stages of Tuesday's win over Getafe due to a slight ankle problem, and the experienced defender has now emerged as a doubt for the clash with Los Che.

Alvaro Odriozola

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: February 14 (vs. Valencia)

Alvaro Odriozola was forced off the field against Huesca last weekend due to a muscular issue, and the right-back was not available for selection against Getafe, making him a doubt to take on Valencia.

Eder Militao

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: February 14 (vs. Valencia)

Eder Militao served a suspension against Huesca and was expected to be available against Getafe, but the Brazilian was ruled out through injury in the build-up to the match; the 23-year-old is therefore a major doubt to face Valencia, further adding to Zidane's problems in a defensive area.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Madrid have no suspension issues for this match and will be able to welcome back Toni Kroos, who was absent against Getafe due to a one-game ban.
