Michael Laudrup flattered by Queens Park Rangers link

Lekhwiya SC boss Michael Laudrup reveals that he has "no intention" of leaving the Qatari side in the near future.

Lekhwiya SC boss Michael Laudrup has admitted that he is flattered by reports linking him with the vacant managerial role at Queens Park Rangers.

Laudrup had been tipped to replace Harry Redknapp, but despite describing speculation around a potential role at Loftus Road as "positive", the former Swansea City boss has insisted that he has no plans to depart his role in Qatar.

The 50-year-old told Ekstrabladet: "It is always positive to be linked with big jobs, and taking over QPR is a big job.

"But, having said that, I would also like to say that I have no intention of leaving Lekhwiya at the moment.

"We are top of the league and are starting the group phase of the AFC Champions League in two weeks."

Caretaker boss Chris Ramsey, Real Madrid assistant Paul Clement and former Southampton boss Nigel Adkins are the top three candidates for the role, according to the majority of bookmakers.
