QPR boss Mark Hughes is delighted with his side's performance after their 3-1 win against Wigan at Loftus Road.

Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes was pleased with his side's work ethic and desire during his first home league match in charge as the R's ran out 3-1 winners against Wigan Athletic.

Goals from Heidar Helguson, Akos Buzsaky and Tommy Smith have lifted the Loftus Road club out of the relegation zone.

"I am delighted, I thought the performance level was good. We began a bit anxiously but that is understandable because we haven't picked up too many points lately and I thought we settled down and played some good stuff," Hughes told Sky Sports News.

"It's just a start and we have to maintain it but our work ethic and desire to do the right things and stay in the Premier League is there for all to see."

Rangers will now turn their attention to their FA Cup fourth-round tie against Chelsea next Saturday.
