Team News: Edinson Cavani, Zlatan Ibrahimovic start for Paris Saint-Germain against Rennes

Cavani, Ibra start for PSG

Laurent Blanc has selected both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani in his starting XI for Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 clash with Rennes this evening.

The PSG boss has been forced to deny rumours of a rift between his two star players and has encouraged them to learn to work together on the pitch.

Cavani will have to settle for a place on the wing in a home side showing four changes for the match at Parc des Princes, where the Parisians remain unbeaten this season.

Yohan Cabaye is handed a rare start in place of the suspended Thiago Motta, while Adrien Rabiot, Lucas Digne and Ezequiel Lavezzi come in for Blaise Matuidi, Marco Verratti and Maxwell.

Rennes have seven-goal top scorer Paul-Georges Ntep back available and so Ola Toivonen drops to the bench. There are also recalls for Abdoulaye Doucoure, Steven Moreira and Vincent Pajot following the 4-1 defeat to Caen.

Victory tonight will take PSG to within one point of league leaders Lyon. Three points could see Rennes climb three places to seventh.

PSG: Sirigu; Marquinhos, Luiz, Silva, Digne; Cabaye, Rabiot, Pastore; Lavezzi, Ibrahimovic, Cavani Subs: Douchez, Camara, Maxwell, Lucas, Bahebeck, Matuidi, Verratti

Rennes: Costel; Mexer, Moreira, Diagne, Armand; Doucoure, Fernandes, Pajot, Henrique, Benjamin, Ntep Subs: Sorin, Bruls, Konradsen, Danze, Prcic, Habibou, Toivonen
