Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti is allegedly told to lose weight by new boss Thomas Tuchel.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has allegedly been told to lose weight by new boss Thomas Tuchel.

Verratti, who is free from World Cup action this summer after Italy failed to qualify for the tournament, is currently preparing for the new season alongside Tuchel.

According to Calcio Mercato, Tuchel, who was appointed at PSG following the departure of Unai Emery to Arsenal, was keen on assessing the weight of his players upon his arrival in the French capital.

The source says that, in a meeting between the pair, Tuchel told Verratti to slim down in order to remain in the manager's plans for the new season.

Verratti scored two goals and registered five assists in 33 appearances for PSG last term.
