Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Lille vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Lille vs. Paris Saint-Germain.

Brest vs. Montpellier (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Two sides looking to return to winning ways in Ligue 1 will lock horns at the Stade Francis-Le Ble on Sunday lunchtime as Brest play host to Montpellier HSC.

Les Pirates played out a four-goal draw with Lyon in midweek, whereas Montpellier's European dreams were damaged after they suffered a dismal home defeat to Metz.

We say: Brest 1-2 Montpellier HSC

Brest and Montpellier both boast an impressive tally at the correct end of the pitch, but defensive questions are being asked of both sides ahead of this encounter. On the whole, the two managers can be satisfied with their teams' performances approaching the New Year, and this is a tough game to call, but Montpellier have been strong away from home and we expect La Paillade to just edge it.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Dijon vs. Monaco (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Monaco manager Niko Kovac pictured in September 2020© Reuters

Dijon and Monaco will both be aiming to bounce back from midweek defeats in Ligue 1 when the two sides go head to head at the Stade Gaston-Gerard on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Lille in their most recent outing, whereas Monaco were no match for newly-promoted Lens as they lost their third game on the bounce.

We say: Dijon 0-2 Monaco

Monaco's crushing defeat to Lens would have been a different story without Disasi's early sending-off, but Kovac's men will view this encounter as the perfect chance to arrest their worrying recent slump and poor away record. Dijon have been looking more resilient in recent weeks, but we cannot see Les Hiboux getting something from this one and are backing Les Monegasques to return to winning ways on Sunday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

St Etienne vs. Nimes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Saint-Etienne will be aiming to stretch their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to five matches when they welcome Nimes to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts picked up a long-overdue win at Bordeaux in midweek, whereas Nimes' losing run continued with a 2-0 defeat to Nice on Wednesday evening.

We say: Saint-Etienne 2-0 Nimes

Saint-Etienne fans have finally had some festive cheer with their side's unbeaten streak, but Nimes have given their supporters very little to get excited about amid an abysmal run of form. Puel will view this game as an excellent opportunity to end Les Verts' winless run on their own patch, and the confidence in the hosts' camp ought to be sky high right now, so we can only back a Saint-Etienne win this weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Strasbourg vs. Bordeaux (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Strasbourg manager Thierry Laurey pictured in February 2020© Reuters

Strasbourg will be aiming to stretch their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to five matches when they welcome Bordeaux to the Stade de la Meinau on Sunday afternoon.

Les Coureurs enjoyed a 2-0 victory at Angers in their most recent outing, whereas Bordeaux fell to defeat at home to Saint-Etienne in midweek.

We say: Strasbourg 2-2 Bordeaux

Strasbourg's home form is still questionable despite their recent revival, but Bordeaux's inconsistent nature makes this an extremely difficult game to call. The loss of Simakan could be a huge blow for the hosts if he is ruled out of this encounter, but Strasbourg are nevertheless a team full of confidence at the moment, although we think Bordeaux should do enough to take a share of the spoils.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Nantes vs. Angers (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Nantes entertain Angers in Ligue 1 on Sunday with the hosts desperately searching for a win, having failed to do so in any of their last six matches.

Angers, meanwhile, are looking to remain in the top half of the table at the end of the calendar year, with the trip to Nantes one of two matches closing out 2020.

We say: Nantes 2-2 Angers

With Angers struggling against sides below them in the table of late, we can envisage both sides being content with a point during a busy schedule.

Both sides are capable of scoring goals but have struggled defensively, so there should be a few goals at least.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Lorient vs. Rennes (Sunday, 4.00pm)

Lorient will be looking to recover from their midweek Ligue 1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain when they face off against another European-chasing side in Rennes on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the visitors marched to their second win in a row with a narrow triumph over Marseille before their trip to the Stade du Moustoir.

We say: Lorient 1-2 Rennes

Lorient were looking good against PSG before Gravillon's red card changed the course of the game, and Pelissier will be working with a depleted squad for the visit of Rennes. Stephan's side have resumed their charge for a spot in Europe and will be buoyed by their hard-fought win over Marseille, so we can only see Rennes coming away with all three points in this encounter.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Lille vs. PSG (Sunday, 8.00pm)

In a true test of Lille's Ligue 1 title credentials, the current league leaders welcome reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy for Sunday evening's top-of-the-table clash.

PSG currently sit one place and one point below Lille in the rankings, although the standings could change depending on what happens in Lyon's clash with Nice the day before.

We say: Lille 2-2 Paris Saint-Germain

PSG never really got going against Lorient until Gravillon was sent for an early bath, and the champions have not looked their usual dominant selves in recent weeks. Tuchel's side can never be underestimated even without Neymar, but Lille are leading the way for a reason and ought to feel confident about their chances of coming out on top. However, we ultimately cannot separate the two sides and expect the title rivals to play out a closely-fought draw, with that point for Lille surely enough to see them remain at the top of the rankings.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a draw or an away win.
