Jack Whatmough signs three-year deal with Portsmouth

Portsmouth have handed a three-year contract to centre-back Jack Whatmough.

The 17-year-old, who is highly rated at the League Two club, has been praised by Pompey's Academy manager Andy Awford.

"I'm delighted for Jack. We will continue to work hard to help him develop and hope that he is someone who will go on to play first-team football in the future," Awford told the club's official website.

A number of Football League clubs are reportedly monitoring his progress.
