Agyemang wants Portsmouth stay

Striker Patrick Agyemang has conceded that he would like to join Portsmouth on a permanent basis in the summer.

The 32-year-old joined Pompey from fellow League One outfit Stevenage in January on a six-month loan basis.

However, despite the fact that his loanee club have been relegated, the centre-forward has admitted that he would be extremely interested in extending his stay at Fratton Park.

"I'm trying not to give too much away. But we'll see what happens. There are positive noises and I love being here," he told The News. "The fans have been amazing to me and made me feel welcome. I'm happy at the moment.

"It's good to be appreciated. That standing ovation was brilliant. It's a good feeling to come off the pitch and have 18,000 fans cheering my name."

Agyemang joined Stevenage at the end of last season on a free transfer from Queens Park Rangers.
