Darren Ferguson: 'My players deserve credit'

Darren Ferguson pays credit to his Peterborough United players after they came from two goals down to rescue a point against Crewe Alexandra.

Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson has praised his players for battling back from two goals down to earn a point at Crewe Alexandra.

The Scot believes that Posh made a good start to the game, but were left stunned when Vadaine Oliver and Ajay Leitch-Smith put the home side in front after 21 minutes.

However, Tyrone Barnett struck in first-half injury time, before Michael Bostwick swooped at the death to secure a 2-2 draw at the Alexandra Stadium.

"Whenever you're 2-0 down in a game and you get something from it, you deserve credit," PA quotes Ferguson as saying. "We kept going and scored late on, so credit to my players for coming back and getting something out of it.

"It was a brilliant start from us, we were in complete control of the game. Of course, goals change games and after their first two shots on goal, we were 2-0 down. It left us with a problem.

"It's important when you have a defeat that you don't lose the next game, especially when you're trying to achieve what we are this season. We couldn't afford to lose two games on the bounce."

Peterborough are third in League One, three points off leaders Leyton Orient.
