Torino too strong for Pescara

The Turin club made the breakthrough in the fourth minute when Mario Santana turned in Alessio Cerci's cross from just yards out.

Danilo D'Ambrosio came close to making it 2-0 for Torino on 18 minutes with a header but failed to keep his attempt on target.

The visitors had a number of chances to double their advantage as the first half progressed and eventually scored their second goal of the afternoon on 41 minutes.

Riccardo Meggiorini released Cerci with a precise through-ball and the winger fired in from the right side of the penalty box.

Pescara stepped up their game in the second half, as Birkir Bjarnason and Emmanuel Cascione both went close from inside the Torino penalty area.

The home side had the better chances in the second 45 minutes but failed to make them count, finishing the game with 10 men after Vladimir Weiss was dismissed in the 82nd minute.
