Johnson optimistic over Oldham future

Oldham Athletic manager Lee Johnson has expressed hope that his squad will develop together over the next two years.

The Latics knocked League One leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers out of the FA Cup on Tuesday following a 2-1 win at Molineux.

Johnson hopes that the players will retain their focus when they return to league action.

He told BBC Radio Manchester: "The club's in a strong position. We've got young players on two-year contracts. We're going to go with this group for two years and hopefully add to it.

"It's a young group, so now I've probably got to marshal that [confidence] and make sure it doesn't turn into complacency.

"Just keep doing the right things, keep being solid in your performance and it will come good."

Oldham travel to Gillingham on Saturday.
