Norwich City new boy Steven Naismith eager to get off the mark against Liverpool

Former Everton frontman Steven Naismith is eager to help fire new club Norwich City to victory against Liverpool should he feature on Saturday.

Steven Naismith has targeted opening his Norwich City account against Liverpool tomorrow after joining the Canaries from the blue half of Merseyside.

The Scottish forward sealed a reported £8.5m switch to Carrow Road earlier this week and he is expected to feature against the Reds in Saturday's lunchtime kickoff.

Naismith scored his first Everton goal in the Merseyside derby and he said that it was a "nice coincidence" to face the Reds in his first Norwich game.

"Just being involved is great, it is a nice coincidence that [my first match] is against Liverpool," he told reporters.

"It will be a tough game, one which we need to be ready for from the off, they have some great players, but at home especially Norwich have looked very strong in all their games, so I am looking forward to hopefully being involved in some way.

"I scored my first goal [for Everton] against them, so if I could replicate that, it would be another good start."

Naismith scored 25 goals in 123 appearances in just under four years at Everton.
