Pitch inspection due ahead of Northern Ireland vs. Russia

Northern Ireland clash in doubt

The World Cup qualifier between Northern Ireland and Russia has been thrown into doubt due to adverse weather conditions.

The region has been hit by snow, which caused the runway at Belfast airport to close temporarily ahead of tonight's fixture.

A pitch inspection is due to be carried out at 10.30am at Windsor Park and a decision will be made regarding the status of the match, according to Sky Sports News.

Northern Ireland are placed in fourth position in Group F following one loss and three draws.
