As both sides look to pull away from the pack in the Danish Superliga, Nordsjaelland are set to face Brondby for an early-season six-pointer at Right to Dream Park on Sunday.
Tigrene are hoping for a fourth win on the bounce this weekend, while Drengene Fra Vestegnen will be aiming to extend their unbeaten streak to eight matches.
Match preview
Jens Fonsskov Olsen's Nordsjaelland ended the 2024-25 season in poor form, losing three, drawing one and winning one of their final five league matches.
However, Tigrene carried their strong showings in preseason into this campaign, beating Frederica 3-2 on the road on the division's opening matchday.
That victory has Olsen's side fourth in the table, level on three points with their opponents and one shy of top-of-the-table Randers, who drew their second game.
Hoping to separate themselves from the rest of the top flight's title challengers, the hosts will take confidence from the fact that they have lost just one of their last eight home matches, not to mention that they have scored two or more goals in each of the last five.
Maintaining their 100 percent record on Sunday would be enough to put Nordsjaelland in first place, though defeat may see them drop into the bottom half.
Meanwhile, Frederik Birk Christensen's Brondby have carried an undefeated run from the end of last season through a number of friendlies, their opening Superliga game and a Conference League clash ahead of this weekend.
A week ago, Drengene Fra Vestegnen recorded the best result of any club so far this term when they beat Silkeborg 3-0, courtesy of a brace from Filip Bundgaard and an 86th-minute closer from Nicolai Vallys.
Securing all three points in impressive fashion has Brondby in second place, and fans will be hoping that they can regain the Danish crown that they last won in 2023-24.
A second victory would give the visitors a psychological boost, but while they have proven their resilience on the road with just one loss from their last seven competitive away matches, they won only two of those games, suggesting that they could find it difficult to take maximum points at Right to Dream Park.
Should Brondby earn another three points on Sunday, then they could go clear at the top of the table, but losing could scupper their momentum.

Team News
Nordsjaelland will be without Araphat Mohammed this weekend as he works his way back from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, so Prince Amoako Junior should start at left-wing, joined by Peter Villum Berthelsen and Sindre Walle Egeli in Olsen's frontline.
Elsewhere, centre-back Erik Marxen, who has been out of action since March, will be unavailable due to injury once again, so expect to see Tobias Salquist and Lucas Hogsberg line up at the heart of defence on Sunday.
In the centre of the park, Mark Brink was taken off with an injury against Frederica, and if he is not ready to take part this weekend, then Justin Meltofte Janssen could step in.
As for Brondby, striker Filip Bundgaard will be hoping to build on his two goals last time out, and he should start alongside Nicolai Vallys and Clement Bischoff up front.
In the backline, Sean Klaiber, Rasmus Lauritsen and Frederik Alves will be shielding Patrick Pentz between the sticks, flanked by Marko Divkovic and Mats Kohlert at wing-back.
Nordsjaelland possible starting lineup:
Lykke; Ankersen, Salquist, Hogsberg, Walker; Yirenkyi, Janssen, Rojkjaer; Egeli, Berthelsen, Junior
Brondby possible starting lineup:
Pentz; Klaiber, Lauritsen, Alves; Divkovic, Wass, Nartey; Kohlert; Vallys, Bundgaard, Bischoff
We say: Nordsjaelland 2-2 Brondby
Nordsjaelland have performed strongly at home in recent games, and their impressive scoring record suggests that they could be a serious threat this weekend.
However, Brondby have proven to be resilient, and even though they will be hard-pressed to win, they could take a point from this clash.
