Valcke requests pay-off after FIFA suspension

FIFA secretary-general Jerome Valcke has had a request to be paid the remainder of his contract rejected.

Valcke has been suspended from his duties following allegations that he was involved in a ticket-selling scheme during the 2014 World Cup.

The Frenchman had worked as secretary-general since 2007 but had said that he would leave when a new president is appointed.

FIFA has been accused of corruption after 10 officials were arrested in May.
