Former Netherlands defender Jaap Stam reveals that he wants to manage in the Premier League in the future.

Former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam has revealed that he wants to one day manage in the Premier League.

The 40-year-old plans to move to Ajax next season as an assistant coach to Frank de Boer following his current coaching role at PEC Zwolle.

"As a player, I started at a reasonably small team and worked my way up," Stam told BBC Sport. "As a coach, I'm going to try to do that as well.

"As an assistant, I'm doing it now. When I get my A licence, maybe I'm going to start as a coach or manager again at a small team and then work my way up to a big team. But my dream is to get back to England."

Stam experienced stints at AC Milan, Lazio and Ajax during his playing career.
