The Russian Premier League has been suspended with immediate effect as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
At a time when all of the other major European leagues have been brought to a halt, Russian football has continued at all levels.
However, on Tuesday, the Russia Football Union announced that the top flight and the lower divisions would be suspended between March 17 ad April 10.
The announcement came on the same day that UEFA confirmed the delay of Euro 2020 by a year, with the tournament now beginning on June 11, 2021.
Despite that development, football continues to be played behind closed doors in Turkey as Goztepe face Rizespor on Tuesday.
