Premier League stars Thomas Vermaelen and Vincent Kompany are struggling to make Belgium team for Saturday's international.

Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has joined Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany as an injury doubt ahead of Belgium's friendly against England.

Gunners star Vermaelen has been struggling with a groin strain and has been unable to take a full part in training before Saturday's international.

Central defensive partner Kompany is also battling a calf problem to start at Wembley.

Belgium should provide a stern test of England's Euro 2012 credentials in the Three Lions' final friendly before leaving for Ukraine.

Manager Marc Wilmots will be able to call on Premier League regulars such as Everton's Marouane Fellaini and Fulham playmaker Moussa Dembele to play this weekend.
