Manuel Pellegrini happy with squad depth

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini insists that he has enough depth in his squad to deal with the busy Christmas fixture schedule.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that he has a big enough squad to deal with the busy Christmas fixture schedule.

City play the first of three games in seven days on Boxing Day when they entertain Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Despite injuries to Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta and Micah Richards, Pellegrini is confident that the rest of his players can cope with an intense week ahead.

"We have a really strong squad with real quality players, who can cope with all the matches, without our injured players and players that can't play," the Chilean is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

City are currently in third place in the Premier League table, one point behind Liverpool.
