Former UEFA president Michel Platini: "My conscience is clear"

Former UEFA president Michel Platini says that he will continue fighting allegations of corruption and insists that his "conscience is clear".

Former UEFA president Michel Platini has claimed that his "conscience is clear" and he will continue to fight allegations of corruption.

The Frenchman is serving a ban from all football activity after allegedly receiving a "disloyal" payment of £1.5m from former FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

Despite his ban, Platini was granted permission by UEFA to address Congress in Athens this morning ahead of the presidential election.

In his speech, Platini said: "Just simply know that my conscience is clear, that I am certain that I committed not the slightest fault and that I am continuing to fight legally."

Meanwhile, reports have claimed that Slovenian FA chief Aleksander Ceferin is likely to be elected as the new UEFA president.
